Karen earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Marist College that provided the solid background on which her career is built.  Additionally,  Karen completed  advanced education is 13 areas of real estate investing and believes that education is paramount to success, She  has completed extensive training covering a variety of topics from marketing listings for quick sale to negotiating contracts and helping sellers in danger of foreclosure.

Karen is a member in good standing of the Hampton Roads Realtors Association, the Virginia Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors in addition to the Multiple Listing Service.  Karen is a long-time member of the Ocean View Democratic and Social Club, a social organization located in her neighborhood area.  Most proudly, Karen is a Life Member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars where she served several years as Vice President, and served as President of the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary.

Karen helps the community by her lifetime commitment to the Veteran of Foreign Wars, and her fundraising efforts in support of Friends of Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center as well as the Ryan Academy in Norfolk.  She donates to Habitat for Humanity. To date, Exit Realty has donated over $2 million to the charity and built more than 15 Habitat Homes.

Having lived in many parts of the country such as Jacksonville, Florida, Birmingham, Alabama and Denver, Colorado, she has a strong ability to relate to and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and understands the needs and concerns of clients who are relocating.
